Frequently Asked Questions

Should both LEDs on the Spectrum XT USB adapter light up? What do the lights indicate?
Yes, if both Spectrum XT and the USB drivers are installed correctly then both the green and blue LEDs should light up.
The blue LED indicates correct installation for the drivers and the USB is powered on.
The green LED indicates the AirMagnet Spectrum Analyzer service is running.

If one or both LEDs do not light up when the Spectrum XT USB is plugged into a system how can that be resolved?
Please see the troubleshooting section for details.

Common Issues and General Troubleshooting

Verify proper installation of the Spectrum XT USB driver:
Go to Device Manager > Spectrum Analyzers > AirMagnet USB Spectrum Analyzer > right-click: select Properties
Select Driver tab. Driver Provider should be AirMagnet, and Driver Version should be 3.0.3.3. If this is incorrect, reinstall the driver (see below).

Verify AirMagnet Spectrum Analyzer Service is running:
Go to Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services
Find AirMagnet Spectrum Analyzer Service > right-click: select Properties
If 'Service status' is Running, select Stop, then wait 10 seconds and click Start. Status should show Started, and green LED should light. Ensure Startup type is set to Automatic.

3. Run the Spectrum XT installer by right-clicking and selecting Run as Administrator.
    a. Allow installation to complete, including the driver.
    b. Select Finish and reboot.
4. After reboot, insert Spectrum adapter; both LEDs should light.
