If you have a long list of APs and aliases, you can import them in a CSV (comma separated values) format and import them into the AirCheck G2. You will need a PC with the AirCheck G2 Manager software installed.

Create CSV File:

1.  Create a .CSV file using the following format:

  • # bssid, type, friendly name
  • # type = Default, Unknown, Unauthorized, Neighbor, Flagged, Authorized BSSID Authorization Class Name

For Example:

2.  Save file as.CSV in order to import the AP file correctly. Do not use any other formats.

  • In the Import AP section, the fields “Name” and “Authorization Class” are switched in order to be imported correctly.

Import List into AirCheck G2 Manager:

  1. In Access Points, under Import APs from File, click Browse to navigate your PC folders for the .acl or .csv text file you want to import.
  2. Select the .acl or .csv file of APs on your PC, and double click it or click Open. Back in the AirCheck G2 Manager Access Points tab, the file you selected displays in the Select File field.
  3. Click the Import button. The list of APs populates with the imported AP information.

Note: For more information on the software, please see the article AirCheck G2: Manager Software.

Important Notes:

  • MAC address formats with or without colons (:) and either upper or lower case are supported.
  • An Alias Name (friendly name) is not required.
  • Up to 300 APs can be imported. 300 max.
  • If any BSSIDs or Alias Names are duplicated, a file import will override the existing, duplicate entries in the Profile.
  • Entries with an invalid BSSID are skipped during import.
  • Entries with an invalid Authorization Class are classified with the Default authorization.
